On the morning of September 4, a delegation of in-service foreign teachers from Nanjing University visited TYUT and had a discussion with its host in the conference room on the ninth floor of College of Data Science at the Mingxiang Campus. Lyu Yongkang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of TYUT, presided over the discussion, and the head of the International Cooperation Division attended the meeting.

In the discussion, Lyu Yongkang introduced the history and culture of Shanxi Province and the transformation it is currently undergoing. He also gave a brief overview of TYUT, including its talent training, teaching and research, and international cooperation as well as the achievements TYUT has achieved over the years. Having reviewed the exchanges and cooperation between TYUT and Nanjing University in recent years, Lyu Yongkang pointed out that TYUT is now in a critical period of constructing the “double first-class” disciplines and university, and hoped that with the visit of Nanjing University as an opportunity, TYUT could further strengthen its exchanges with Nanjing University, learning about its advanced university-running concepts and promoting practical cooperation in various forms.

On behalf of the foreign teachers, Li Xiaorong, director of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Office of Nanjing University, expressed her gratitude to TYUT for its warm reception. She briefly introduced the current status of development of Nanjing University.

The meeting participants had in-depth discussions and reached preliminary consensuses on issues such as the promotion of the exchanges between the two universities and the establishment of cultural exchange bases etc.

During the visit, the delegation also visited the “Art Heritage Research Center” of College of Art and toured the Mingxiang campus.
