On June 26, a delegation of 49 people from Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) visited TYUT. The delegation was accompanied by Qin Tailong, Deputy Director General of Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology. On behalf of TYUT, Vice President Lv Yongkang received the guests. The heads of International Cooperation Division and representatives of the Coal Science and Technology Education Division, Key Laboratory of Shanxi Province and other relevant subunits participated in the reception.

Lv Yongkang first extended a warm welcome to the Japanese delegation, then introduced briefly the long history and rich culture of Shanxi Province, and gave an overview of TYUT. He introduced that TYUT was formerly a key construction university of the national 211 project and is currently engaged in the construction of the “double first-class” university and disciplines. Focusing on the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and educating people, TYUT is deepening reforms and oriented to serving national and regional strategic development. TYUT attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchanges. The visit of the Japanese delegation is a major move and a solid step to promote TYUT’s strategic internationalization project. TYUT welcomes more Japanese guests to come to visit in the future.

After the reception, the Japanese delegation visited TYUT’s history exhibition, the Coal Science and Technology Education Division and Key Laboratory of Shanxi Province. They learned about the history and development of TYUT as well as the construction of coal chemical engineering, a key discipline of the “double first-class” university.
