On March 25, Liang Weiguo, Vice President of TYUT, met with a delegation led by Yinong Liu, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Western Australia (UWA).
Liang Weiguo introduced the history of TYUT; its internationalization strategy, which aims to internationalize teaching, research, students and administration; and its exchanges and cooperation with top universities in the world. He said that TYUT and UWA are both century-old universities. Given that the engineering programs of the two universities are highly similar, the enthusiasm of both sides for cooperation has always been high. In recent years, especially since the signing of the cooperation agreement between UWA and TYUT, the two sides have maintained close personnel exchanges and frequent high-level visits. The cooperation between the two sides has shown a strong growth momentum, with the area and depth of cooperation expanding continuously. Shanxi Province is currently undertaking the mission of transforming itself into a pioneer of energy revolution and a new highland of inland areas open to the outside world. Liang Weiguo hoped that TYUT and UWA could seize this favorable opportunity to strengthen their cooperation, especially research cooperation, in new energy and engineering, and promote the implementation of substantive cooperation projects so as to complement each other and achieve win-win results. Meanwhile, he also briefed the guests on the setting of the third semester in TYUT and hoped that UWA would support TYUT in the staffing of teachers.
Yinong Liu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and highly praised TYUT for its lively academic atmosphere. He briefly introduced UWA; and said that UWA attaches great importance to establishing an all-round, wide-ranging and in-depth cooperation relationship with TYUT, and would step up its efforts to implement the cooperation programs between the two universities well.
During the visit, Yinong Liu and his delegation went to the College of Materials Science and Engineering of TYUT for academic changes. He also exchanged views on the setting of undergraduate courses with College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, College of Mining Engineering and College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
