Editor:International Cooperation Division .March.16.2019 78

On March 15, a delegation from the School of Languages & Social Sciences at Aston University consisting of Professor Urszula Clark, Head of English; Mrs. Lisa Gregg, Head of Administration; Dr. Sue Garton, Associate Dean External Relations; and Dr. Branka Visnjic, Program Director of the International Year Abroad program, visited TYUT to discuss issues about the deepening of existing cooperation and the expanding of cooperation fields.

Clark and Garton held talks with the leaders of the College of Foreign Languages. The two sides exchanged views on discipline construction, scientific research and international exchanges, etc., discussed cooperation issues of mutual interest, and agreed preliminarily to cooperate in the joint distance training of doctoral students, the joint supervising of master students, and the exchanging of undergraduate students. The two parties agreed to stay in close touch with each other and strengthen their communication after the meeting, so as to implement cooperation projects at the earliest possible time. The two sides also had in-depth discussions and agreed on Aston University’s provision of English teachers for the short summer semester of TYUT.

In College of Economics and Management, Dr. Branka Visnjic introduced in detail the International Year Abroad program and summer programs of Aston University, interacted with the students, and answered their questions.

Since 2015, there have been frequent high-level visits between TYUT and Aston University. The two sides have signed an inter-university cooperation agreement and carried out various types of cooperation including student exchanges and special lectures on subjects like economics, management and electric power etc.
