Editor:International Cooperation Division .March.07.2019 75

On the morning of March 7, Liang Weiguo, Vice President of TYUT; Chen Shaoping, (Acting) Vice Dean of the College of International Education Exchange; and Feng Lei, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Division visited the College of Physical Education (CPE) to conduct a survey on optimizing the international development path of CPE. The leadership of CPE, including the heads of various sections, participated in the survey. The meeting was hosted by Shi Dongbo, Dean of CPE.

Shi Dongbo made a work report to Liang Weiguo and his party entitled “the Internationalization Road of the College of Physical Education”, elaborating on the motivation for CPE to adopt the internationalization strategy, the advantages that CPE has for international development, and CPE’s planning and implementation of the internationalization strategy. Afterwards, Tang Juyuan, Party Committee Secretary of CPE, and other members of the leadership supplemented the work report by presenting the outstanding issues they faced in implementing the internationalization strategy, including the building of teaching teams, exchange policies, application procedures and curriculum setting etc.

Liang Weiguo fully affirmed the work done and the results achieved by CPE in its internationalization endeavor. He said that TYUT Party Committee attaches great importance to and strongly supports the implementation of the internationalization strategy. As for the difficulties and problems that CPE encountered in its current work, TYUT will study and help resolve them to the best of its capacity and at the earliest possible time. In the end, he suggested that CPE should cultivate a sports team of overseas students in the name of “association”; brand the overseas students with the name of TYUT through the teaching of martial arts and Qigong etc.; and open up a new world for TYUT’s “double first-class” construction and international development through the construction of the Horse Riding Academy. He hoped that through joint efforts, a distinctive sports brand would be created in the internationalization of TYUT.
