On the morning of February 26, Vice President Liang Weiguo visited the International Cooperation Division (ICD) to inspect and guide the “reform, innovation and achievement” discussion, and plan the work of ICD in 2019. All the staff of ICD attended the meeting.

Liang Weiguo pointed out that as TYUT is now implementing the internationalization strategy and building an all-round, multi-faceted and wide-ranging open educational pattern by taking courage to go global and introducing advanced talents and technology from foreign countries, the “reform, innovation and achievements” discussion will serve as an important bearing for its endeavors. Given that 2019 is a critical year for TYUT’s “double first-class” construction, ICD should integrate the promotion of the discussion with the implementation of the “internationalization strategy” and the fulfillment of its duties; and should enhance its sense of responsibility and urgency for “reforming and opening up again” by making clear the focus of its work, improving its work standards, strengthening its service awareness, optimizing its workflow and improving its working efficiency. He emphasized, in addition, that the role of the subunit as the main actor for the internationalization work should be further displayed in 2019. And the subunit should be fully mobilized, with heightened awareness, a clear sense of direction and a persistent spirit. Meanwhile, it is also important to strengthen the institutional construction, define responsibilities and create a strong atmosphere for achieving the goal of internationalization.

After the meeting, ICD immediately held a working meeting to carry out the instructions of Liang Weiguo and make arrangements for all the tasks in the new semester.
