On September 27, a delegation of three people led by Michelle Teasdale, the International Relationships Manager (North Asia) of the University of Western Australia (UWA), visited TYUT.
During the visit, the heads or discipline representatives of the graduate school, College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, College of Electrical and Power Engineering, and College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of TYUT held discussions with Teasdale, exchanging their views with the latter on the current status and outstanding issues of the “3+2” cooperation program as well as priorities for future cooperation and expressing their hopes for deepening the cooperation between the two sides by strengthening the exchange of teachers and the cooperation in scientific research while promoting the exchange of students.
UWA is a research-intensive university. It was ranked 81st in the 2019 Best Global Universities Rankings published by U.S. News & World Report and 86th in the QS World University Rankings 2020. As per an agreement signed between UWA and TYUT, two undergraduates from the College of Mining Engineering of TYUT are currently studying at UWA under the “3+2” exchange program. Starting from 2020, UWA will provide 6 full-time scholarships for doctoral students from TYUT every year. UWA will waive the full tuition of those who are finishing off their master’s degree studies at TYUT and have been admitted to a PhD program offered by UWA with the approval of the China Scholarship Council.
