Student representatives of TYUT participate in a seminar with the “Eighteenth Visiting Delegation of Outstanding Youth from Taiwan Universities to the Mainland”

On the morning of February 17, a seminar for students from the universities of Shanxi Province and the “Eighteenth Visiting Delegation of Outstanding Youth from Taiwan Universities to the Mainland” (hereafter referred to as the “Taiwan Youth Delegation”) was held in Taiyuan. Six student representatives from TYUT participated in the seminar, including Pan Dehua, Chairman of the Student Union of TYUT and the 29th Parent of the Screw Family; Yang Wangxiao, President of the Science and Technology Innovation Association; Wang Tianyuan, the 7th Chairman of the Second Student Association Federation; Guo Yi, Captain of the National Flag Guard; Zhang Wangzheng, President of the Sports & Culture Association; and Wu Siyu, President of the Theoretical Learning Association. The seminar is themed on the “construction of associations in universities”.

 

Thirteen student representatives from National Taiwan University, Chinese Culture University, National Cheng Kung University and Chung Yuan Christian University etc. and participants from TYUT introduced the construction of associations in their respective universities, exchanged different construction practices and experience, and discussed the related problems and reflections. The Taiwanese students showed great interest in the “Screw Family” association of TYUT. Representatives of TYUT introduced in detail the evolvement and features of the “Screw Family” over the past 30 years. The seminar demonstrated the graceful manners of students from different universities, enhanced their understanding of each other, broadened their horizons, and deepened their friendship. All students participating in the seminar said that they had benefited a lot from the exchange.

 

The seminar was hosted by Shanxi Provincial Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. Participating in the seminar were also responsible persons from Shanxi Provincial Department of Education and student representatives from Shanxi University and Shanxi University of Finance and Economics.

 

The “Taiwan Youth Delegation” is organized by Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomingtang. It invites presidents of student unions, speakers of student councils and backbones of student associations of well-known universities in Taiwan for high-level political visits, university exchanges and socializing, and traditional Chinese culture tours, and experiencing the modernization achievements in the mainland. It aims to enable the outstanding youth from Taiwan to have a deep understanding of the mainland's political, economic, cultural, and social systems; and promote the peaceful reunification of the motherland. The 18th “Taiwan Youth Delegation” consists of 36 people and has participated in activities organized in Shanxi and Beijing from February 12 to 21.
