The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) was founded in 1890. It is a well-known century-old comprehensive public university in the United States, and the first institution of higher learning in Oklahoma. UCO has five colleges, namely, College of Business, College of Liberal Arts, College of Mathematics and Science, College of Fine Arts and Design, and College of Education and Professional Studies, including dozens of academic programs.
TYUT signed a memorandum of cooperation with UCO in 2014. According to the cooperation agreement, TYUT and UCO agreed to exchange undergraduates in some programs. We hereby notify matters related to the selection of undergraduates for the 2019-2020 Academic Year as follows.
I. Cooperation Programs
1. The “3+1+1” joint undergraduate educational program: The undergraduates of TYUT who have completed their study in the first, second and third academic years and meet the joint education requirements can apply to study a relevant program at UCO, and will be awarded a master’s degree from UCO and a bachelor’s degree and graduation certificate from TYUT after obtaining the required credits. For students who have been successfully admitted, UCO will provide them with a scholarship of $4,000 per academic year.
2. One-academic-year exchange student program: This exchange program targets mainly the 2017 undergraduates in relevant majors. The exchange period is one academic year, which starts from the fall semester of 2019. For students who have been successfully admitted, UCO will provide them with a scholarship of $3,000 per academic year.

Meanwhile, depending on the specific circumstances, TYUT will provide a certain amount of financial assistance to the exchange students in accordance with the “Management Measures of Taiyuan University of Technology for the Financial Assistance to Overseas Exchange Undergraduates”.
II. Eligibility Requirements
1. The applicant shall have Chinese nationality, love the socialist motherland, and have good political and professional qualities. He or she shall be excellent both in conduct and learning and healthy physically and mentally. He or she shall be honest and credible and have no record of violation of laws and disciplines. He or she shall have a good sense of cooperation and strong communication skills.
2. The applicant shall have excellent academic performance, with an average credit point of 3.0 or more (5-point system). The number of courses that the applicant has failed to pass at TYUT shall not exceed two (including two). Furthermore, the applicant shall not have any failed courses before going to the United States; otherwise he or she will not be dispatched abroad. Minor-degree undergraduates are not allowed to apply for the exchange programs. The applicant whose major compulsory courses do not match those of UCO are not allowed to apply for the exchange programs either.
3. English Proficiency: The applicant who applies for the “3+1+1” joint undergraduate educational program shall meet one of the following requirements: (1) TOEFL score of 550 (PBT) or 79 (IBT) and above; (2) IELTS score of 6.5 and above; (3) TOEFL score of 500 points or IELTS 6.0 points, plus 12 weeks of English study courses at a language education institution approved by the Oklahoma State government. The applicant who applies for the one-academic-year exchange student program does not need to provide English scores; but have to pass a remote English interview by the person in charge of the International Office of UCO.
4. Students shall apply for the exchange programs on a voluntary basis and shall abide by the relevant selection regulations and requirements of TYUT.
5. The applicant shall submit the courses matching table to the Academic Affairs Division within four weeks after receiving the admission notice from UCO. Otherwise, it will be deemed automatically that the applicant has given up participating in the exchange program.
III. Submission of Application Materials and Deadline
1. Application for admission (applying online: http://www.uco.edu/student-affairs/oga/future-students/visiting-students-and-scholars/index.asp)
2. A photocopy of passport;
3. Transcript (in English);
4. A recommendation letter from a teacher(which shall indicate the student’s command of English);
5. Certificate of financial resources: The applicant who applies for the “3+1+1” program 3+1+1 projects shall provide a certificate of financial resources of USD 45,000; and the applicant who applies for one-academic-year exchange program shall provide a certificate of financial resources of USD 23,200;
6. The TOEFL or IELTS transcripts shall be sent to UCO via ETS or IELTS.

The applicant shall submit the “Application Form of Taiyuan University of Technology Undergraduate International (Cross-border) Exchange Program” (see Attachment 1) and the application materials to Room G208 (Guojiao Building, Yingxi Campus), International Cooperation Division or Mingxiang Campus Management Committee Room 322 before April 3, 2019. One copy of the paper application materials is required. Relevant divisions of TYUT will examine the qualifications of the applicant, review the application materials, and submit them to UCO. The latter will organize an online interview in English and determine the candidates to be admitted.
