Relevant Colleges,
The University of Missouri, Columbia (MU) is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU). AAU is an extension of the famous Ivy League, which includes 59 top public and private universities distributed in 28 of the 50 states in the United States. In Missouri, only two universities, i.e. MU and Washington University in St. Louis, are included in AAU. MU has been known as the “Public Ivy League School” since 1908 and is the cradle for training industrial leaders. MU holds the second largest number of the CEOs of the 2011 and 2012 Global 500 companies, just as famous as Harvard University, University of Texas and University of Wisconsin.
We hereby notify matters related to the selection of undergraduates for the 2019-2020 Academic Year as follows:
I. Cooperation Programs
1. The “3+1+1” joint undergraduate educational program: The undergraduates of TYUT who have completed their study in the first, second and third academic years and meet the joint education requirements can apply to study at the College of Engineering of MU, and will be awarded a master’s degree from MU and a bachelor’s degree and graduation certificate from TYUT after obtaining the required credits.
2. The “2+2” joint undergraduate educational program: The undergraduates of TYUT who have completed their study in the first and second academic years and meet the joint education requirements can apply to study at the College of Engineering of MU, and will be awarded a bachelor’s degree from MU and a bachelor’s degree and graduation certificate from TYUT after obtaining the required credits. (Compared with the “3+2” program, the “2+2” program has the following advantages: 1) The applicant can obtain a bachelor’s degree from MU. If he or she continues to pursue his or her master’s and doctorate studies in the United States, this degree will help him or her enter the top universities in America. 2) When he or she applies for his or her master’s or doctor’s degree, this degree will help him or her to apply for research funds more easily. 3) A bachelor’s degree obtained from MU will make it easier for students to find a job.)
