It is decided that the Methanex-Taiyuan University of Technology Scholarship Cooperation Agreement Renewal Ceremony-cum-the 2018 Scholarship Award Ceremony will be held at 10:30 am on May 10 in meeting room 324 of the main office building of TYUT. Zhang Jianning, President of Methanex China; Kelly Zhou, Chinese Market Development Managing Director at Methanex; Susie Xu, Chinese Market Development Manager; and Liu Runxiang, Deputy Party Committee Secretary of TYUT as well as the heads of the relevant colleges and divisions of TYUT will attend the ceremony. Students who are interested in this event are welcome to join.
In addition, Zhang Jianning, President of Methanex China, will give a lecture on the “Responsible Care” of the chemical industry in the conference room on the 9th floor of the Multidisciplinary Building Block C of TYUT at 7pm on May 9. There will be small gifts during the lecture. We welcome teachers and students who are interested to come and listen to the lecture.
Methanex Corporation is one of the largest suppliers of methanol in the world. Methanex adheres to the values of “trust, respect, integrity and professionalism” and is a responsible and caring company. This year is the seventh year for the scholarship jointly established by Methanex Corporation and TYUT. Over the past seven years, a total of 70 students from different majors have successively won the scholarship and have repaid the society through their own efforts.
The Methanex-Taiyuan University of Technology scholarship targets mainly graduate students majoring in energy and chemical engineering and students from financially stressed families of TYUT. The application for the scholarship starts in April every year, and students can prepare and submit the required materials then. An interview will be organized to select the candidates for the scholarship in June. Each year, 5 outstanding students will be selected for the scholarship, and each student will be granted RMB9,000.
