According to the notice of the Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban and Shanxi Provincial Department of Education and in order to meet the needs of Chinese language learners in various countries and the demand of overseas educational institutions for volunteer Chinese teachers (hereinafter referred to as volunteers), TYUT starts now the registration of volunteers to go to Oceania and Mauritius Africa in 2020. The following are the details of the notice: 

I. Targeted Applicants  

Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree or above, graduate students, returned overseas students volunteers. Those who have mastered the language of the destination country, major in Chinese international education, have teaching experience and hold the “International Chinese Teacher Certificate” are preferred. 

II. Application Conditions  

1. The applicant should have good moral character and professional qualities, love his or her motherland and volunteer to engage in the international education of the Chinese language. He or she should have a strong sense of dedication and teamwork spirit and no criminal record.

2. The applicant should be in good health, with good psychological quality and adaptability.

3. The applicant should master the basic knowledge of the Chinese language and culture, contemporary Chinese national conditions and teaching theory. He or she should be proficient in the required foreign language, with good cross-cultural communication and Chinese language teaching ability, and have special Chinese talents and skills.

4. The applicant’s command of Mandarin should reach level 2 A. Volunteers to Oceania shall have obtained a score of 425 in CET 6 or with equivalent proficiency. Volunteers to Mauritius shall have obtained a score of 425 in CET 4 or with equivalent proficiency.

5. The applicant should be aged between 22-50.

6. In addition to the above conditions, the applicant should also meet the project country-specific requirement. See the post information table for details. 

III. Application Procedures

1. Please log in to the “Service Platform for Volunteer Chinese Language Teachers”, vct.hanban.org, register a new user account and fill in the basic information;

2. Fill in online and submit the Chinese and English “Volunteer Chinese Language Teachers Application Forms” (hereinafter referred to as the “application form”) and “Volunteer Chinese Language Teachers Comprehensive Review Form” (hereinafter referred to as the “review form”);

3. Generate online the PDF files of the forms, print the files, sign and upload the forms;

4. The applicant should submit for examination the signed Chinese and English “application forms” and “review forms” and a copy of his or her academic degree certificates, Mandarin and foreign language proficiency or level certificates to the Confucius Institute Office of International Cooperation Division (Room 208, Guojiao Building) before 18:00 on September 2, 2019 (For comments on the political performance of the applicant in the forms, the party committee of the subunit where the applicant belongs shall write its opinions and affix its seal).

5. Shanxi Provincial Department of Education will review the qualifications of all applicants, select and recommend qualified applicants to the Confucius Institute Headquarters.

6. The Confucius Institute Headquarters will determine a list of applicants (candidates) for recruitment examination after a comprehensive review. 

The result of the review and the information about the recruitment examination will be sent directly to the candidates. Please follow up with the notices displayed on the service platform and sent to the registered mailbox and remain connectable via mobile phone.
