At the invitation of the Japan-China Friendship Center and with the approval of the Department of East Asian Affairs of Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, TYUT selected 10 students from its College of Environmental Science and Engineering, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and College of Electrical and Power Engineering to participate in the “Friendly Exchange Delegation of Chinese University Students to Japan” from May 19 to 26. The delegation visited Tokyo and Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan. A total of 150 young students from universities across China participated in the friendly exchange activity.
During their visit to Japan, members of the delegation from TYUT visited Tokyo’s Kita Ward Disaster Prevention Center, Kanazawa City’s Western Environmental Energy Center, and Wajima Lantern Hall. They learned about Japan’s advanced experience in earthquake disaster prevention, solid waste treatment, and traditional cultural preservation. In addition, they had discussions with the teachers and students of Kogakuin University and Kanazawa University, and listened to a special report by Dr. Yukio Kida on “Green Infrastructure”. In the meeting, Song Tianhao, a student from the College of Electrical and Power Engineering of TYUT, spoke as the group representative, demonstrating TYUT students’ excellent grasp of professional fundamentals as well as their good spirit.
During their visit to Japan, the TYUT students in the delegation performed well in all the exchange activities. They have impressed their Japanese hosts with their excellent professional quality and appropriate social etiquettes, established a good image for TYUT, and were highly praised by the delegation organizer. Their visit to Japan has built a good communication platform for Chinese and Japanese students, deepened the mutual understanding and friendship between the young generations of the two countries, and promoted the cultural exchanges between the two countries.
