On the morning of September 11, a delegation of three from Purdue University Northwest (PNW), i.e. Kenneth (Chris) Holford, dean of the College of Engineering and Sciences; George F. Kacenga, the executive director of Global Engagement and Chenn Zhou, former PNW Interim Associate Vice Chancellor; visited TYUT. Vice President Liang Weiguo met the guests at the Yingxi campus.

Liang Weiguo said that over the past ten plus years, TYUT and Purdue University had carried out extensive cooperation centering on the exchange of students, and the cooperation involved many disciplines, with pragmatic objectives and solid foundation. It is hoped that the two sides could further deepen their existing cooperation, innovate their cooperation model and broaden the cooperation areas. In particular, the two sides could strengthen their scientific research cooperation and the exchanges of teachers and students in order to achieve more fruitful results.

Guests from Purdue University expressed their gratitude to their TYUT host for the warm reception; proposed specific plans for the future cooperation; had in-depth discussions with the heads of relevant disciplines including mechanical and vehicle engineering, electrical and power engineering, big data, information and computer, software and biomedical engineering; and reached preliminary consensus.

During the visit, the guests also visited the university history exhibition and the metal composite molding laboratory.
