Editor:International Cooperation Division .March.31.2020 153

On the morning of March 31, a focused topic meeting was held in Conference Room 324 of the Administrative Building on Yingxi campus to plan the return of foreign employees to their posts. Vice President Liang Weiguo presided over the meeting, and the heads of Personnel Division, Academic Affairs Division, Graduate School, International Cooperation Division, College of Art, College of Foreign Languages, College of Economics and Management, College of International Education Exchange, High-level Sports Team Administration Center, Coal Science and Technology Education Division and Key Laboratory of Shanxi Province attended the meeting.

Liang stressed that all units should strictly implement the relevant requirements for epidemic prevention and control, and foreigners abroad should not be allowed to return to the university. The units that have employed foreign employees should put into practice the requirements of ensuring and promoting both the prevention and control of coronavirus pandemic and the running of everyday affairs. Following the principles of “whoever employs (foreign employees) should be responsible for the employment and fulfill relevant duties” and “one plan for one person,” the units should formulate and refine their plans for the return of foreign employees to their posts, and make detailed preparations prior to their return. As for the foreign teachers who are teaching online, the employer units should take proactive actions, strengthen guidance and set the right direction by preparing detailed syllabus and teaching plans, strengthening pre-class review, in-class supervision and post-class assessment etc. As for foreign post-doctors who need to return to the university to carry out their research and foreign teachers who are required to teach the returned graduating students on campus, the principle of “two points and one line” should be strictly abided by and “point-to-point” teaching be conducted to ensure the health and safety of teachers and students. As for the foreign teachers who are unfit for either returning to the university or conducting online teaching, efforts should be made to strengthen communication with them and give explanation to appease them so that they will not have misunderstandings.

The units that have employed foreign employees briefed and exchanged their preparations and arrangements for the return of the foreign employees as well as some outstanding issues.
