As per the “Notice on the Selection of International Student Administrators under the 2019 Study Abroad Programs for Young Backbone Teachers and Higher Education Pedagogics (LH)” issued by China Scholarship Council (CSC), we hereby notify matters related to the selection as follows:

I. Selection Plan

1. Number of Candidates to be selected: 1
2. Selection Category and Duration of Study Abroad: visiting scholar, for a period of 3 months
3. Dispatchment Time: June 2019 (Provisional)
4. Study Bases: University of Alberta Canada, Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
5. Sponsored Expenses: a scholarship for the stay in a foreign country (including accommodation, food and insurance, etc.), study fees and one-time round-trip international airfares. The scholarship standards and disbursing methods will be set in accordance with relevant national regulations. The funding for the applicant to study abroad will be borne by CSC and TYUT in a proportion of 1:1.

II. Eligibility Requirements

1. The applicant shall be a regular staff member of TYUT, who is engaged in the administration of international students with excellent work performance and great development potential. He or she shall be physically and mentally healthy and have good ideological and political qualities.
2. The applicant shall submit the formal invitation issued by the foreign institution where he or she intends to study at the time of application.
3. The applicant’s foreign language proficiency shall meet the foreign language requirements of CSC for personnel studying abroad. For details, please refer to http://www.csc.edu.cn/article/1045. The one whose foreign language proficiency does not meet the requirements at the time of application shall provide a foreign language test score certificate (WSK/TOEFL/IELTS test scores) that can reflect his or her foreign language proficiency. Under the same conditions, CSC will give priority to those who pass the foreign language proficiency test at the time of application.
4. The applicant who applies for studying abroad as visiting scholar shall meet the following conditions: He or she shall be under the age of 45 (born after March 1, 1973), have more than 5 years of work experience after graduation with a bachelor’s degree, and more than 2 years of work experience after graduation with a master’s degree. There is no requirement for the number of working years for applicants with a PhD.

III. Application Procedures
1. The applicant shall log on to the CSC website http://apply.csc.edu.cn from March 1 to 5, 2019 to register online. For information about the application materials and instructions, invitation letter, matters needing attention when contacting an overseas study institution and foreign language requirements, etc., please log on to the information platform of CSS http://www.csc.edu.cn to check.
2. Applicants are requested to submit the paper materials of CSC (3 copies, positive and negative print) and the subunit recommendation letter (attachment 1, one copy, signed and stamped) to International Cooperation Division before March 7, 2019. The Word version of the subunit recommendation letter shall be sent to ices@tyut.edu.cn.
3. The applicant shall submit the official unit recommendation letter and the “List of Preliminarily Selected Candidates” to CSC before March 11.
