Relevant Subunits,
As per the “Notice on Organizing the Selection and Recommendation of Teachers for the State Sponsored Teaching Abroad Program (SSTAP) of the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in the Spring of 2019” issued by Shanxi Provincial Department of Education and in order to assist Hanban to select teachers for SSTAP and strength the people-to-people exchanges, external publicity and foreign education cooperation of TYUT, we now openly recruit teachers for SSTAP of Hanban in the Spring of 2019 and notify relevant matters as follows:

II.Eligibility Requirements and Job Demands
1.The candidate should love international Chinese language education and the cause of Confucius Institutes, have knowledge of relevant national guidelines and policies, and abide by the laws and regulations of China and the country where he or she will work. He or she should have a strong sense of organizational discipline and teamwork spirit. He or she should have a strong sense of mission, honor and responsibility, and great virtues; and be dedicated the teaching profession.
2.The candidate should be in-service teachers in institutions of higher learning, primary and secondary schools in China with a teaching experience of 2 years or more.
3.The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree or above, with an educational background in humanities such as international Chinese education, Chinese language, foreign languages, education, and culture etc. He or she shall be generally under 55 years old (inclusive) and are in good physical and mental health. Teachers of non-universal languages such as Russian, French, German, and Spanish can be under 58 years old (inclusive) and should be physically and mentally healthy.
4.The candidate shall reach level 2 A or above (inclusive) in Mandarin and be proficient in English or the language of the destination country. He or she shall have strong Chinese teaching, Chinese cultural promotion and cross-cultural communication skills. Candidates with experience in teaching Chinese as a second language as well as other foreign work experience are preferred.
5.The candidate shall meet the requirements set for the job vacancies in foreign countries. Please log on webside for information about the specific requirements. The time that candidates are sent abroad is in August 2019 generally, and the term of service is generally 2 academic years. (See attachments)
III.Recommendation Procedures
1.Submission of Application Materials
2.The candidate shall fill out an online application form. Those who fail to do so will not be accepted. The candidate shall log on to webside for online registration. After filling out the online application form, the candidate shall download and print “Application Form for the State Sponsored Teaching Abroad Program” (hereinafter referred to as "Application Form") and submit it to relevant divisions for review. The subunit to which the candidate is affiliated shall provide a recommendation letter with an evaluation on his or her political thought, teaching ability, and physical and mental health. The application form shall be signed by the head of the subunit and affixed with its official seal and then submitted to the Confucius Institute Office in both paper and electronic forms.  
3.Subunit Review: The recommending subunit shall strictly review the applications of its candidates to ensure that the application materials are true and complete; and shall conduct a thorough political review and issue a consolidated recommendation opinion afterwards. The person in charge of the administration shall sign and seal all the application forms before submitting them to the Confucius Institute Office. Submissions by individual candidates will not be accepted. All subunits shall submit a summary list of the recommended candidates and their original application forms as well as their recommendation letters to the Confucius Institute Office before April 24. Overdue submissions will not be accepted.
IV.Selection Test  
The recommended candidates shall sit for a selection examination organized by Hanban. The test will be conducted in the form of an interview, which mainly examines the professional knowledge, teaching skills, cross-cultural competence, foreign language proficiency, and psychological quality of the candidates. The time for the test is preliminarily scheduled on May 18 and 19, and the specific arrangements will be notified later by Hanban via email or telephone, etc.
V.Admission Training
The list of admitted candidates will be determined in accordance with the result of the selection test and job requirements. The admitted teachers shall participate in the training organized by Hanban and will be dispatched abroad only after passing the training assessment. The specific arrangements will be notified later.
VI.Remuneration
The remuneration for the teachers will be set in accordance with the “Regulations on the Management of the Allowances and Remunerations for Teachers Dispatched Abroad by the State” (Finance & Education [2011] No. 194) issued by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Ministry of Education (MOE).
