On the afternoon of November 9, a delegation of more than 60 Pakistani youths headed by Provincial Minister of Punjab for Youth Affairs, Sports, Archaeology and Tourism, Mr. Muhammad Taimoor Khan, visited TYUT for a friendly exchange. Vice President Liang Weiguo and the heads of the Propaganda Division, Youth League Committee, International Cooperation Division and College of International Education Exchange participated in relevant activities.
The delegation was invited by All-China Youth Federation. The visit aims to implement the initiative of the leaders of China and Pakistan and the spirit of the “China-Pakistan Joint Statement”, enhance the understanding and friendship between the young people of the two countries, promote the inheritance of the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan by the youths of the two countries, and consolidate the social foundation of the bilateral relations.
In the meeting between the two sides, Liang Weiguo first extended a warm welcome to the Pakistan youth delegation on behalf of TYUT. He then introduced the development of TYUT in various aspects in recent years, expressed the good will to strengthen the cooperation with countries along the “Belt and Road”, and proposed specific implementation plans.
Fu Yu, a Pakistani international student at TYUT, introduced his study in China in the meeting and sent his invitation to the outstanding Pakistani youths to study at TYUT. Guo Xuanfu, a TYUT Chinese student representative, extended his warm welcome to the young friends coming afar from Pakistan, and made a speech on the theme of “a community with a shared future for mankind”, wishing the tree of China-Pakistan friendship evergreen.
During its visit of TYUT, the delegation also interacted with the robot team of TYUT and visited Jinxin Entrepreneurship Park.
The visit of the Pakistan Youth Delegation will play a positive role in further expanding the opening-up fields and space of TYUT. Following the strategic planning and requirements of Shanxi Province for “building a new highland for inland areas open to the outside world", TYUT will strive to construct a broader platform for foreign exchanges and cooperation in economy, culture, personnel training, innovation and entrepreneurship.
